Product Overview
Teach Me French Teach Me More French takes kids on a musical journey through the year, and they learn a whole lot of French along the way! This is a 45 minute audio tape set that comes with a 20-page book, and targets kids aged 2-12..

This program contains upbeat and fun bilingual songs, as well as some basic French conversation in between. The tape starts off in the spring time when it is time to plant a garden which leads quite naturally into the song Oats & Beans & Barley Grow. Later it's off to the zoo, and kids listen to Going to the Zoo sung in French and English. The French spoken phrases are simple (such as "Nous allons a la plage") and spoken very clearly. Kids go to the museum, the zoo, the farm, and a lot more.

All of the audio is backed up by the accompanying booklet with coloring book-style illustrations and lyrics to the songs.

Although Teach Me More French can do just fine as a stand-alone product, the content is slightly more advanced than the first in the series, Teach Me French (see our review). The first tape deals more with the alphabet and counting, and other basic concepts.

As with the first tape, this one contains a wonderful potpourri of different styles of songs and speech clips. From the upbeat Day-O to the peaceful Silent Night, the songs combine styles that makes for great listening.

This series would be equally suited for classroom use and for home use. It can add color and interest to learning French as a second language in a school setting, and parents might like to play the tape at home or during car trips. If you play it often enough, learning will be automatic.

Note: Other languages are also available — Chinese, Spanish, German, English, Hebrew, Japanese, Russian, and Italian.

An auditory sample is available from the Teach Me Tapes website.

Teach Me French is also available (see our review). Teach Me Even More French is the third in the series.

Also available is a Teacher's Guide — this guide contains extra activities, vocabulary words, and cultural tidbits.

Dollar Value
The book and cassette set costs $12.95 US and the CD/book set sells for $14.95 US. The hours upon hours of very educational and entertaining material make it well worth the price.
