image. Product Overview
This magical Christmas production departs from the Classical Kids series tradition that features stories and music revolving around classical composers. Still, it continues the series' high standards of rich music, clear narration, and engaging storytelling.

Listeners are treated to a warm and enchanting story of Christmas, from the journey of the Three Wise Men to Bethlehem to the celebration of Christmas Day. Along the way, they travel to Germany, the land of the first Christmas tree, and are treated to O Tannenbaum. Kids learn how tinsel came to be as they listen to a sweet story about a little Christmas tree. A meeting with Saint Nicholas, who is quick to distinguish himself from Santa Claus, holds a gentle reminder about the meaning of Christmas — it is "about giving, not getting." Christmas Eve is celebrated through gentle music (Silent Night, Nutcracker Suite Overture, and Brahm's Lullaby), and readings of the poems 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Story of Silent Night.

Songs from around the world are performed by children's choirs and soloists and include a haunting delivery of O Holy Night, a Polish lullaby, O Come All Ye Faithful, and D'ou Viens-Tu Bergere. Delivery of classic Christmas poetry is peppered throughout the recording. Listeners even learn how the famous poem, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, was born.

If your children are anything like the kids in the story — who think Christmas is all about presents and stockings — they will enjoy this rich recording that will leave them appreciating the history, traditions, and joyous music of this magical holiday.
